As I peer into the window of the present, I find that my thoughts are slower in speed than in my formative years. Be it my incumbent nature as of now to refrain from dwelling and giving in to the ‘tick’. My due time away from technological stimuli has indeed paved the way for clearance in thought, feeling, and action. Having the space to formulate sentences and ruminate on the meaning of each work has been profound. The excess of stimuli bombarding my every minute was leaving stains of attention residue everywhere. I felt pulled in a myriad of directions, not being able to focus diligently on one facet, inducing anxiety all the more. We live in a time where our attentions’ opportunity cost has skyrocketed and if not engaged properly, will yield the wrath of technologies’ ills in the most drastic of forms. Make sacred your time indulging in work, family, and leisure. Never let this quaint device veer you away from the daily, let alone the important. Our days are our lives in miniature, so rejoice in the fact that a day not bombarded by notifications and constant exposure to technologically run stimuli, is a day well lived.
